The journal is a double-blind peer-reviewed scientific journal covering the field of Parasitology including biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, biogenetics, ecology, and epidemiology eukaryotic of parasites. Technical and clinical studies related to health, the relationship between the host and parasite, and the ethical and social issues for establishing better diagnosis and control of parasitic diseases are also covered. The journal targets research on relevant scientific information, with special emphasis on parasitological and related clinical and zoonotic research. Reports of original research that may include community surveys, editorials, reviews, short communications, case reports, commentaries, letters to the editor and agendas of events are all accepted and reviewed online. In addition, the journal maintains a peer-reviewed periodical that summarises recent relevant publications, entitled "Spotlights on Recent Publications". Open access: The journal is Open Access. Peer-reviewed accepted articles are published open to universal viewing on the internet, without publication charges for free access which is covered by the ‘Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Egypt (STI)’ and the ‘Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB)’. According to the size and content of the manuscript, a reduced handling fee in the Egyptian Pound is charged for updated members of the ‘Egyptian Parasitologists United’ society.
